INTRODUCTION

The Graphic Design Discipline will equip you with the initial understanding and skills to create and develop ideas using graphic communication.

The specific subjects covered will include: branding, corporate design, advertising, publishing and information design.

COURSE CONTENT

The content and structure of the course follows a sequential progression to introduce you to the essential skills and understanding needed to undertake the study.

In level 1/year 1, you will work in a variety of disciplines with an emphasis on thinking, looking, doing and making.

In level 2/year 2, you concentrate on Graphic Design, balanced with internship opportunity. Creative ideas, aesthetics and technology play an important part. At the end of level 2/year 2, you will prepare ideas for level 3/year 3 Negotiated Projects.

For level 3/year 3, we place the emphasis on sharing the responsibility for your own development. You will negotiate an individual programme of study, including a major project linked to a final essay. Throughout the course, you will go through Contextual Studies, integrated in relevant modules.

There are three levels of progression, each containing ten 120-hour modules or equivalent.
